Welcome!
My name is Heather Kirkpatrick, and I am excited and grateful that you found Reflecting Inward Life Coaching!
RILC is a nonprofit organization that offers free life & career guidance resources. We focus on helping individuals with self-discovery, career selection, and career and interview prep. However, RILC goes well beyond finding a meaningful career. We are ultimately here to help anyone who wants help with any life goal or challenge. Our free resources will positively impact all parts of your life. From improving relationships, healing from emotional trauma, job interview perfection, the elusive "happiness" so many seek but find dificult to acquire, or anything else you feel is missing to feel "whole," Reflecting Inward Life Coaching can help you achieve your goals. Many of the challenges we face as humans are addressed in the Free Resources tab. Take a look and reach out if you have any questions.
Today's youth are in a crucial spot to determine what the future will look like for themselves and their posterity. As an educator, I have taught and subbed in schools in Texas, Colorado, Utah, and California. I was discouraged to find that not one of the public schools offered a solid, individualized career exploration program with personal guidance to a career that fits their unique values, strengths, and life goals. Much less the mental and emotional support and resources available to overcome the limiting mindsets that keep students from considering a future they may believe is "impossible." Knowing that our youth desperately need and deserve more to prepare them for the challenges of adulthood, I compiled all of my career, education, and training experience to create the Career Exploration Program and Life Coaching Activities found within RILC. Awareness is key! When students are clear on who they are, what is valuable to them, and how to reach their goals; they believe they can reach them and are motivated to see school as an opportunity to prepare for their specific life goals. Nearly every adult I have talked to about this program has said the same thing: "I wish they had something like this when I was in school."
At RILC, we value the individual and their personal contribution regardless of whether or not it is a STEM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) career. We believe that: 1) anything is possible even if we don't know how to get there...yet; 2) we don't know how much is possible until we try, are willing to learn from failure, and try again with adjustments; and 3) the answer is always 'no' if we don't ask (but if we do ask, the answer might be 'YES!'). How much do we miss out on because we have been trained to believe that "it's not possible?" What if... it is ok to have dreams because you have a guide to help you achieve them? What if that guide can help you to understand the root of your fears and overcome them-allowing you to confidently pursue fulfilling opportunities in all areas of your life?
Welcome! I look forward to getting to know you and to helping you reach your goals. For the world you're gonna make!
Warmly,
